The Beatles
February 7th is the 40th anniversary of the Beatles first visit to the United States.
To commemorate this occasion a DVD has been released featuring previously
unseen footage of the trip.
The film, by documentary filmmaker Albert Maysles, depicts the beginning of the
British music invasion that reshaped American popular music.
When the Beatles arrived in the USA they were already famous in Britain but the
footage shows a couple of young men who are more than a little awe struck. They
didn’t stay that way.
