Singer Beyonce was the big winner with 5 awards, including Best Contemporary
Rhythm and Blues album and best female R & B vocal performance for her hit single
“Crazy in Love.”
Rap duo Outkast won three awards including album of the year for ‘Speakerboxxx/
The Love Below.’ Outkast performed their single ‘The Way You Move’ with Earth
Wind and Fire, and George Clinton during a tribute to funk music.
The Best New Artist award went to rock group Evanescence, who also picked up
the Best Hard rock performance award. Christina Aguilera picked up the best female
pop vocal award for her single ‘Beautiful.’
But the coveted Record of the Year prize went to the group Coldplay for their song,
‘Clocks.’ The band dedicated their award to the late Johnny Cash.
