B: To be honest, it was a little disappointing. The boss informed everyone during the party that Peter got the promotion that I had wanted. I guess it put kind of a damper on the evening for me.
A: I thought the boss was going to give you that promotion.
B: Me too. In the past, he made it sound like I was going to get that promotion. So, I’m just a little upset that he gave me false hope.

B: 나도 그런 줄 알았어. 여태까지, 내가 승진 할 것처럼 하셨는데, 나한테 헛된 희망을 심어줬으니까 기분이 상하는 거지.
